Site Maps lets you represent a location and its areas. A Site might be a building, and a Level a floor or another area shown on a map. Devices are still called Spots.

The site and level structure is separate from the Spot folder tree. Creating a site does not create a Spot or folder. Maintaining sites and levels is an administrator function.

Browse a site map

  1. In the browser, open Assets, devices, tools and select Site Maps.
  2. Select a site. Its default level opens.
  3. Select another level in the structure to view its map.

Create a site and its first level

  1. Select Create site from the Action menu.
  2. Enter the site's Name and Description.
  3. Select Add level. Enter the Level name and Level description, and mark it as the default.
  4. Select Save level to add it to the site form.
  5. Finally, select Save site.

A site must have one default level. Choose the area where users should naturally start.

Add a level or map image

Select Create level from the Action menu. Select the Site, enter the name and description, and select a Parent level if it belongs under another level. Save.

A level can have one map image. Supported formats include PNG, JPG, JPEG and SVG. Use Change floormap to replace the selected level's map image.

If maintenance actions are unavailable, ask an administrator to make the change. Before replacing a map, check that the correct site and level are selected.
