How do I update a maintenance plan and track changes?

Open Long-term maintenance plans, select a plan and open Edit plan. Changes require the appropriate permissions for its Spots.

1. Check the plan name, start year and device list.
2. Change the required element rows, condition ratings and yearly amounts.
3. Add or remove Spots only when the plan's scope changes.
4. Save and check yearly summaries.

Removing a Spot from a plan also removes its element rows from that plan. Adding the Spot back later does not restore those rows. The device, or Spot, itself remains in Spotilla.

Record the reason for the change on the Comments tab. Select Write a new comment, enter the relevant information and add it. Explaining why maintenance was postponed helps the next planner understand the new schedule, for example. Editing comments requires permission.

History shows recorded changes to the plan, device selections, element rows and yearly amounts, including who made them and when. Use it to investigate changes; reselecting a Spot alone does not restore deleted element rows.

If editing is unavailable, ask your administrator to check your permissions. Seeing a plan does not by itself grant permission to change information for all its Spots.
