Linking a tag connects a physical identifier to a device, or Spot. Simply reading a tag to open its details is a different action. First open the correct Spot and the option for changing its tag.
Select a tag from the list
- Select the required tag from the available tags.
- Check its surface number.
- Save the selection and approve the confirmation requested by the app.
- Check the saved tag in the Spot's details.
Link by scanning
- Before scanning, make sure you have the correct Spot and physical tag.
- Start NFC or QR reading in the tag linking view.
- Read the tag and wait for the result message.
- Check the link in the Spot's details.
Scanning may create the link immediately without a separate Save button. Linking by scanning requires an available tag and a Spot without a tag. If either is already linked, investigate the existing link before changing it.
NFC reading requires a compatible phone with NFC available. On Android, hold the phone's reading area near the tag. On iPhone, start NFC reading and follow the prompt. QR reading requires camera permission.
If scanning fails, select the tag from the list if it is available there. If saving or linking is rejected, check permissions, the identifier and existing links.
Once linked, try reading the tag with the normal tag reader and confirm that it opens the correct Spot.
