You can organise files already attached to a Spot into its file folders. Moving changes a file's location within the same Spot.

These browser instructions require permission to edit the Spot. Create the required file folder before moving files.

Move a file into a folder

  1. Open Assets, devices, tools, select Default table and open the Spot.
  2. Go to Files in the basic details. Use Cards view.
  3. Open File Folders and select the destination tab. Its file area is visible even when empty.
  4. Drag an ungrouped file's card into the destination folder's file area.
  5. Wait for success confirmation and check that the file appears in the destination.

The move is saved immediately. You do not need to confirm it with Save on the Spot form.

Move a file between folders

Open its current folder and drag the file card over the destination tab to open that folder. Drop the card into its file area. Check the new location after a successful move.

To remove a file from a folder but keep it on the Spot, drag its card back into the ungrouped area under Files. This does not delete the file.

Why does a move fail?

The destination folder does not exist. Create a file folder on the Spot first. Drop files in the folder's file area, not the upload drop zone.

The file stays in place or an error appears. Check the error, network connection and Spot editing permissions. Wait for the move result before trying again.

I do not know where the file moved. Reopen the Spot and check the source folder, destination folder and ungrouped file area.
