Open the product and Warehouse balances. Check quantities by warehouse and slot before assessing spare-part availability.
Default slots
Open Default slots and alert limits. Select Add new default warehouse slot, choose the warehouse and slot, and save. Defining a default does not move existing stock.
Alert limits
- Open Alert limits.
- Choose General warehouse alert limit, or warehouse-specific limits and, if needed, Total quantity alert.
- Enter limits and save the product.
- Recheck saved values.
The general limit uses the same threshold in every warehouse. Warehouse-specific limits allow different quantities. The total quantity alert covers combined stock across all warehouses.
The general limit cannot be combined with warehouse-specific limits or the total alert. When changing methods, clear the old settings with the separate clearing action and read its confirmation. Clearing saves the change, so verify which limits you are removing.
Alert limits help identify low stock. They do not automatically create purchase orders or correct balances. Also check notification recipients so the information reaches the right person.
