Moving changes an existing folder's position in the folder tree. Copying creates a new folder structure, for example for a similar site.

Move an existing folder

  1. Open Folder tree in the browser and click the folder to move.
  2. Change Parent to the folder under which you want to place it.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Check that the folder is in the correct position in the tree.

The new parent must be outside the folder's own subfolder structure and must not contain Spots. You need permission to edit the folder being moved and to create folders under the new parent.

Subfolders move with their parent. To move an individual device, or Spot, use the Spot move action.

Copy a folder structure

  1. Select Copy folder in the folder tree view.
  2. Select the source under Choose the folder you want to copy.
  3. Select the destination under Copy to folder.
  4. Check Number of folder to be copied. The source folder's subfolders are copied too.
  5. Start copying and approve the confirmation.
  6. Wait a moment and refresh the page to see the result.

Copying runs in the background. Copy is added to the top folder's name; rename it if needed.

Copying creates folders and their settings. It does not create copies of their Spots or attachments. Check the new structure's device cards, customer details and other settings before adding devices.

If the copy does not appear immediately, wait before starting another copy. Also check that you are looking at the correct destination folder.
