The KIHO connection brings the location and running hours of linked devices from KIHO to Spots in Spotilla. Configure the settings in the browser. You need administrator rights, the KIHO integration enabled for your organisation, and credentials for the KIHO connection.

Save credentials and test the connection

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → KIHO.
  2. Open Authentication. Select the connection's Environment and Authentication method: API key, Username and password, Person number and PIN code, or Client ID and tag.
  3. Enter the KIHO credentials required for the selected method. If a separate address has been provided for the connection, enter it in Base URL.
  4. Select Save, then Test Connection. The test uses the saved details.

After a successful test, you will see the time when the connection was verified. The connection test checks authentication; transferring data to Spots also requires spot mappings and sync to be enabled.

Link a KIHO entity to a Spot

Open the KIHO connection's Settings and go to Telemetry Sync. The interface refers to links between Spots and KIHO entities as spot mappings.

  1. Select Link spot.
  2. Select the Spot in Spotilla.
  3. Search for and select the corresponding KIHO entity. You can search for vehicles or devices by, for example, name or identifier. Entity type is filled in based on your selection.
  4. Check that you selected the correct entity, then select Link spot.

To view existing links, select Manage spot mappings. The list shows the Spot, KIHO entity, External ID and Running hours, among other details. Each Spot can have one KIHO link. The same KIHO entity cannot be linked to multiple Spots.

Preview and start the data transfer

  1. Select Preview Spot Telemetry Sync. The preview does not change Spot data and does not require In use to be selected.
  2. Wait for the preview to finish, then select View Results. Check Old location and New location, Old hours and New hours, and each row's Action and Reason. The results also show any errors and missing Spots.
  3. Select In use under Telemetry Sync and save the settings.
  4. To start the transfer immediately, select Run Spot Telemetry Sync. A notification that the sync has been queued means the transfer will run in the background.

When sync is enabled, data is retrieved automatically approximately every ten minutes. Data is transferred from KIHO to Spotilla.

What data is updated?

  • Location: The Spot's location is updated when KIHO provides a changed, valid location. The location lookup checks data from the last 15 minutes and uses the most recent location.
  • Running hours: The number of hours is increased based on the value received from KIHO. A lower value does not reduce the saved running hours. Hours can also be updated when no valid location is available.
  • Tag read: When the location has moved more than 50 metres from the previous location saved for the mapping, sync creates a tag read. The first location alone does not create a movement-based tag read.

Deleted Spots are not updated. If the data does not change, check the spot mapping, preview results and Integration Logs. If no KIHO entities are found, make sure the connection's credentials provide access to the correct vehicles or devices. If authentication is blocked, save the credentials again and test the connection.

Remove a link or stop sync

To remove an individual link, open Manage spot mappings, click the trash icon on the row and confirm the removal. The Spot will then stop receiving data from that KIHO entity. Removing the link does not delete the Spot or any data already saved to it. If you move a KIHO entity to another Spot, remove the old link before creating a new one.

You can stop all KIHO telemetry sync by clearing In use and saving the settings. To remove the saved connection credentials, select Clear saved credentials on the Authentication tab.
