In Spotilla, devices, machines and other assets are called Spots. This guide explains how to find the details of a device, or Spot, in the mobile app. When you open a Spot, you can view its details and access related Tasks, Service requests and Files, for example.
The Spots and details you can see in the app depend on your user account’s access rights. The following browsing instructions apply to both the Android and iOS apps.
Opening a Spot from the folder tree
- Open Spotilla and sign in.
- On the Home screen, select Browse folders and spots.
- Open the folder you want and any subfolders as needed.
- Select the Spot you are looking for to open its details.
If you do not know which folder the Spot is in, open the search using the magnifying glass in the browsing view. Search for the Spot and open the correct Spot from the search results.
What can I find in a Spot’s details?
A Spot’s details include information such as its name, description and device details. The information shown depends on what has been saved for the Spot.
You can open content related to the Spot, such as:
- Tasks and Service requests
- Messages and Contacts
- Files
- Reservations and completed Task Reports.
In the Spot’s details, select the content you want to view. The available actions also depend on your access rights and the features in use. Being able to view a Spot’s details does not automatically mean you can edit them.
Viewing contracts linked to a Spot
You can view contracts linked to a Spot in both the Android and iOS apps. In the iOS app, a Show contract button appears in the Spot’s details if contracts are linked to the Spot. In the Android app, the button also requires a customer to be specified in the Spot’s details.
Tap the button to open the contract list. You can see each contract’s name, status, and start and end dates if this information has been saved.
I cannot find a Spot or its details
First, check your search term and the folder you are looking in. If you cannot find the Spot using search either, ask your organisation’s administrator to check that you have permission to view that Spot.
If information or an action is missing from the Spot’s view, the information may not have been added, or your access rights may not allow you to use the action. For example, the contract button does not appear if no contracts are linked to the Spot. In the Android app, the button also does not appear if no customer is specified in the Spot’s details.
