The mobile app's PIN or biometric lock protects access to the app on your phone. Browser multi-factor authentication adds a separate sign-in verification step. These settings are managed in different places.

Mobile app lock

  1. Open Security or security settings in your profile.
  2. Select PIN or biometric locking.
  3. Complete the requested authentication or PIN setup.
  4. Check which locking method is enabled.

Biometric authentication requires a compatible phone with biometrics configured in its settings. If unavailable, check the phone settings and use another locking method offered by the app.

Changing the PIN is a separate profile action. Keep the code private. A PIN lock does not replace your account password, which may be needed when signing in again.

Multi-factor authentication in the browser

  1. Open User profile.
  2. Open Multi-factor authentication and select Activate Multi-factor authentication.
  3. Scan the displayed QR code with an authenticator app as instructed.
  4. Enter the app's six-digit code and select Verify.
  5. Store the displayed backup codes somewhere you can access without your phone.

Backup codes are needed if you cannot use the authenticator app. Do not share the QR code, verification codes or backup codes.

If your organisation's sign-in service requests additional authentication, follow its instructions. The mobile app's lock setting does not remove that requirement.
