First decide whether the workflow concerns future events or existing records. These choices affect different data.

  1. Open workflow settings.
  2. Choose future-event execution, one-time processing of existing records or recurring processing as needed.
  3. Check start time, repeat interval and limits on the number of items processed.
  4. Set allowed weekdays, times and any daily limit.
  5. Check the target count in the test stage and enable the workflow.
  6. Open run history and check completed, running, stopped and failed runs.

One-time processing of existing records does not automatically apply the same rules to future events. Check that separately.

If a run fails, open its details and identify the stage and cause before retrying. Also check any records already created so the correction does not produce duplicates.
