Categories help group tasks. Links indicate the device, or Spot, service request or work order associated with the work. Check these when creating a task.
Add categories
- Open the task in the browser.
- Find Category Tags and choose suitable categories.
- Save.
- Check that the selections appear on the task.
A task template may supply categories. Check them before adding your own. Use your organisation's shared classification so other users' searches and reports find similar work.
Check links
First confirm the Spot. If related to a service request, use Link to service request. Select the correct Work order if needed and save.
A link connects the task to existing work. It does not create a service request or mean that other related tasks are complete.
If you cannot find the required request or work order, check its name, your permissions and selection filters. Do not link to identically named work belonging to the wrong customer.
Track progress
Use task list statuses and category filters, or save a view for recurring monitoring. Check responsible parties, due date and completion comments for more detail.
A category or saved view does not itself subscribe you to notifications. Notification settings are a separate task setting; check them if you want messages about work events.
